The Mont-Blanc Express

I decided to go on a little adventure to the east edge of the Rhone valley, at the foot of the Swiss Alps, Martigny. Taking the beautiful scenic route via the Mont-Blanc Express from Vallorcine, due to the line not running trains between Chamonix - Vallorcine there was a bus service provided which only took approx 40 minutes. Once I arrived at Vallorcine station I then hopped on the Mont-Blanc Express which then took me straight through to Martigny, it was a very relaxing journey travelling on the edge of the cliffs on a single track with the mountains covered in snow and the sun shining.

If you are travelling from the Chamonix direction I would advise you sit on the right hand side of the train to capture these glorious views.

Very picturesque coming into Martigny... I was surprised to see very little snow and I was also surprised at how warm it was.

In all it was definately a worthwhile little adventure and it's such a pleasure being able to visit such lovely places at such short distance. I'm looking forward to going on more adventures to new places near and far.
